The Miniature FireSteel is just 3/20 of an inch thick and 2 inches long. This FireSteel.com FireSteel is about as thin and short as you can go yet still give a good shower of sparks for firemaking.
The FireSteel.com Miniature FireSteel in our least expensive FireSteel. It is small and ideal for small survival kits where you want a reliable means of making sparks to start fires.
This firesteel rod is small on purpose: meant for small survival kits where space is at a premium (like those made using Altoid Tins) or tucked away inside a wallet, etc. so that you know you can start a fire whenever you need one. The rods work great for that.
