Product Description
This ground cloth will protect the soil underneath an elevated fire pan from sparks and embers. It is a canvas fabric treated with a heavy duty fire retardant. It will char but will not ignite if embers fall on it. Embers should be quickly extinguished or placed back in the fire pan. More wilderness rivers are requiring that these be used. This product meets current National Park Service (NPS) requirements for rafting the Green and Yampa Rivers through Dinosaur National Monument. Verify the applicable regulations prior to arriving at the put-in.Fires or fire pans should not be be placed directly on this blanket. While it is fire resistant, embers and open flames can burn through the fabric if not promptly extinguished. Use of this ground cloth is not a substitute for proper fire management and common sense.
